When Mats arrived in Southern Spain, he came with nothing. He build a house with everything he could find and started planting fruit trees and vegetables. He created his home on the slope of the mountain and now lives an easy life with his sixteen cats, he even got a little lawn in the shade, which he calls his priceless possession.
And the best thing about the place; there's no rent to pay. Mats: 'Rent is one of the big evils of this world, because it forces everyone to go to work.. and for what.. Just for a space on the earth'.

Edgars protest is probably the most pacific protest in the world. As long as you see sustainable living in an ecovillage as a revolt. The former permaculture teacher from Peru has been living in nature for over 20 years and now he has it all; a warm shower, a washing machine and even a terrace heater. Because living in nature is not about suffering. It's about living in luxury and having a choice. Edgar has chosen the easy life with fresh air, clean water and food from the garden. Where everyday is like Sunday except Thursday.. that's market day....

What happened to the LemonDrops? Are they still alive? When can we expect the new film... Well we are currently in the Sierra Nevada in the South of Spain and we have seen a lot of absolutely mind-blowing places.. So, we decided to relax for a while to really inhale the beauty of this place. But no worries.. we're still filming but we postponed the editing for a bit.. Current wheater conditions: 28 °C, no clouds!

Meryl, who is the goatgirl, teacher, cook, gardener and budget controller on the organic farm and community, first came to the place in south-west spain when she was around 15 years old. A big change after growing up in Brussels. She tells us what it takes to join the community; about the beauty of nature and her goat-dreams.

Matavenero is a remote ecovillage in the mountains of North-west Spain. We've got the chance to meet El Uli, who 's the oldest resident of the village. He showed us his magical, seven corner house, the land around it which provides all the food for his family and tells us what comfort means to him.
